Company Profile

Genvolt is the trading name for General High Voltage Ltd. A UK company dedicated to the supply, design and manufacture of High Voltage Power Supplies. We are based about an hour away from Birmingham International airport in the heart of rural Shropshire.

As a small organisation, we pride ourselves on quick decision making and fast design cycles. This equates to more cost-effective designs for special products and OEM applications simply because the time to get the end product to the customer is short. This is particularly true when we can use one of our many standard building blocks for power conversion and power supply control in the design.

The wide range of products that we now offer include small modules (PM range and CR Range), mid range products (Sirius Range, Europa Range and Mercury Range) and high power products (Deltex Range and the new Vulcan Range).

Control of our power supplies can be via many means. Some of the simple supplies can be controlled with analogue signals whilst on other products we can also offer RS232 or an IEEE488 interface. We are also able to provide PC-based software to interface with our equipment.

Our manufacturing policy is to subcontract the assembly of non-specialised parts. This allows us to ensure that our expertise is concentrated in the areas that require high voltage skills. All final assembly and testing is carried out on the premises at Genvolt.

Company History

Genvolt was formed from a management buy-out negotiated by the management of Astec Very High Power
with that of Astec Europe Ltd. The result was that General High Voltage was incorporated on 21st December 1991.
Genvolt can trace its roots to Brandenburg Ltd., a company which for several decades was almost synonymous with high voltage.
