Genvolt design, develop and manufacture a wide range of high voltage power supplies from 200V to over 300kV through certified systems which conform to ISO 9001:2015.
With output voltages starting from a few hundred volts and extending to over three hundred kilovolts and power levels stretching from a few Watts to over 50kW (kilowatts).
Alongside our standard products, you will find Genvolt's expertise in providing tailor-made designs where off-the-shelf products are unsuitable.
Our product mix varies greatly, from photomultipliers requiring high stability and millivolt ripple to large electron beam welding machines requiring very low stored energy and fast response times.
Applications for Genvolt equipment are equally diverse, you can find our power supplies in analytical and x-ray equipment, alongside industrial, military, capacitor chargers and laboratory use.
Genvolt may be able to provide you with the bespoke power supply you need to meet your demanding applications.

Bespoke Services
Genvolt has a history of producing innovative solutions to varied and complex problems in the field of high voltage engineering.
Many of the products manufactured by Genvolt, are based on designs that were originally created to meet specific customer requirements.
A typical bespoke example:
A typical example of this is the XR250, where a challenging environment and demanding specifications required a highly innovative design.
The XR250 was designed for use in the production of steel strip in a hot strip mill. It is positioned between sets of rollers where the intensity of the x-rays passing through the steel strip is used to measure the steel thickness and to control the pressure on the rollers. The high voltage source is connected directly to the x-ray tube which is situated in a very hot environment. To control the temperature of the power source, cooling water flows through a labyrinth of holes around the electronics and the high voltage areas.
The x-ray intensity is used as the thickness feedback parameter for controlling the pressure on the rollers and thereby the thickness of the metal strip produced. This calls for a highly stable high voltage source, both in terms of the voltage applied to the cathode of the tube and also the anode current. The latter is regulated in a closed-loop manner by the high voltage supply to a high degree of stability and repeatability.
Company Profile
Genvolt is a British company dedicated to the supply, design and manufacture of High Voltage Power Supplies. We are based about an hour away from Birmingham International airport in the United Kingdom.
As an SME (Small and Medium Enterprise), we pride ourselves on quick decision making and fast design cycles. This equates to more cost-effective designs for special products and original equipment manufacturer applications, simply because the time to get the end product to the customer is short. This is particularly true when we can use one of our many standard building blocks for power conversion and power supply control in the design.
The wide range of products that we now offer include small power modules (AF0 range, PM1200 range and CR range), mid range power products (Pegasus Range, Perseus Range, Europa Range and Mercury Range) and high power products (Titan Range, Callisto Range and the Vulcan Range).
Control of our power supplies can be via many means. Some of the simple supplies can be controlled with analogue signals whilst on other products we can also offer RS232, RS422/RS485, USB or an IEEE488 interface. We are also able to provide PC-based software to interface with our equipment.
Our manufacturing policy is to subcontract the assembly of non-specialised parts. This allows us to ensure that our expertise is concentrated in the areas that require high voltage skills.
