- Picking, packing and preparing goods for UK and international despatch.
- Working with couriers, freight forwarders and transport providers to compare costs, service levels and lead times.
- Preparing and checking shipping documentation, including export paperwork, certificates of origin and customs or carrier information where applicable.
- Carrying out defined incoming and outgoing quality checks and maintaining relevant certification and inspection records.
- Raising supplier non-conformances and supporting corrective action through to satisfactory closure.
- Keeping stores, packing and despatch areas safe, clean, organised and audit ready.
What weβre looking for
- Relevant experience in stores, materials control, stock control, warehousing, purchasing support or a similar operational role.
- Experience of goods receipt, goods issue, picking, packing and despatch.
- Confidence liaising with suppliers and challenging late, incorrect or poor-quality deliveries.
- Ability to compare pricing, lead times and delivery options and make practical recommendations.
- Accurate and confident use of stock, purchasing or ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- A methodical, organised approach with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively with Engineering, Production, Quality, suppliers and transport providers.
Desirable experience
- Experience in an engineering, electronics, manufacturing or other technical environment.
- Knowledge of international shipping, import and export documentation, certificates of origin, commodity codes, customs requirements or Incoterms.
- Experience of incoming inspection, supplier non-conformance reporting or corrective-action follow-up.
- Experience of delivery chasing and negotiating routine improvements to supplier pricing or lead times.
- Forklift or other relevant materials-handling training.
What we offer
- A varied role with genuine ownership of day-to-day materials, supplier and logistics activities.
- The opportunity to work closely with Operations, Engineering, Production and Quality in a specialist UK manufacturing business.
- Support and development for role-specific systems, processes and international shipping requirements.
- Competitive Salary and Company benefits to be confirmed.
